Admissions Now Open for BS Degrees at IIT Madras

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has officially opened admissions for its Bachelor of Science (BS) programmes in Data Science and Electronic Systems for the 2025 academic year. These programmes are tailored to provide flexible, inclusive education pathways, especially for working professionals, non-engineering students, and individuals who have not qualified through JEE.

The last date to apply is May 20, 2025, and candidates can apply online via the .

Flexible Admission Model: With or Without JEE

IIT Madras offers two entry routes for these BS programmes:

• JEE Main Qualified Candidates: Eligible for direct admission.

• Non-JEE Candidates: Must complete a four-week online preparatory course followed by an in-person qualifying exam to secure admission.

This approach reflects IIT Madras’ goal of making quality technical education more accessible beyond the conventional JEE system.

Who Can Apply? Eligibility Criteria:

• BS in Data Science: Applicants from any stream, must have studied Mathematics and English in Class 10.

• BS in Electronic Systems: Requires Physics and Mathematics in Classes 11 and 12.
