Jonathan Joss , famous for voicing John Redcorn in ' King of the Hill ', died after he was shot multiple times by a homophobic man when he and his husband Tristan Kern de Gonzales were checking the mail at their former house. In his statement, Gonzales said that the San Antonio home was burned down after over two years of threats from people in the area who could not accept their gay relationship.

Gonzales said that during their stay in that house, they were harassed regularly and openly by homophobic individuals.

"When we returned to the site to check our mail we discovered the skull of one of our dogs and its harness placed in clear view. This caused both of us serve emotional distress. We began yelling and crying response to the pain of what we saw," Gonzales said.

Earlier this year, they lost two of their dogs when the house caught fire. The house was built by Joss' father in the 1950s.

"While we were doing this a man approached us. He started yelling violent homophobic slurs ar us. He then raised a gun fro his lap and fired," Gonzales wrote,

"Jonathan and I had no weapons. we were not threatening anyone. We were grieving. We were standing side by side. When the man fired Jonathan pushed me out of the way. He saved my life," he wrote.

Officers were reportedly dispatched while the shooting was in process and found him near the road. After an attempt to revive him, he was pronounced dead on the scene. The shooter, 56-year-old Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, has been detained and TMZ is reporting that it was the result of “a heated argument” with a neighbour.

“Jonathan is my husband. He gave me more love in our time together than most people ever get … I was with him when he passed. I told him how much he was loved," Gonzales wrote adding that Jonathan was murdered by "someone who could not stand the sight of two men loving each other".
