How to Beat the Lava Dragon Statue in Genshin Impact

Send Push
Boss battles are a big thing in Genshin Impact , with one requiring brute force while another is a puzzle engulfed in fire and fury. Lava Dragon Statue is another World Boss in the volcanic-heartland of Natlan that really fits this philosophy. Located deep within the Atocpan region, this molten menace is not just something to be vanquished, but its defeat also yields the much sought Sparkless Statue Core, a crucial ascension material for forthcoming characters. This is where to find it, fight it, and win it.

How to find Lava Dragon StatueHoYoverse loves to have major encounters well shielded by clever exploration, but maybe not this time: accessing the Lava Dragon Statue is comparatively easy—with the right waypoint unlocked.

First, teleport to the waypoint southwest of the Stadium of the Sacred Flame, near Atocpan's entrance. Follow the winding path to a small but deep chasm. Glide down carefully, and at the bottom, either hide within a Tatankasaurus or take characters like Varesa or Iansan to shatter the hardened rock known as Phlogiston.

Behind the blockade lies a hidden tunnel, enter and activate the Teleport Waypoint inside for easier future visits.
Battle Mechanics: Tips and tricksThe fight Against Lava Dragon Statue isn’t your typical DPS check. For the boss, two Curses meters are placed exactly below the HP bar. Here is how it goes:

  • Step 1: Use Pyro attacks to fill the first Fury meter. Doing so will spawn Lava Dragon Statue in its Molten Dragon form, increasing its aggression and vulnerability.
  • Step 2: Continue using Pyro to fill the second Fury meter. When it is full, the boss will enter Overburn, during which it is paralyzed and elemental resistance is massively reduced.
During the Molten Dragon phase, players may also employ Cryo or Hydro to revert it to its original state but this really does not seem like the fastest way to kill it.

Pro tip: Make sure to POP MAXIMUM Pyro. The statue resists almost all damage until it is stunned, meaning plain-dealing damage doesn't work until Overburn is triggered.

Best Characters for the Fight

The fight favors strong Pyro units capable of quickly building Fury such as Lyney, Hu Tao, or Yoimiya with support characters to increase Pyro damage or help reduce cooldowns, such as Bennett or Xiangling. Cryo or Hydro supports, like Yelan or Rosaria, can provide help in a more control-oriented approach, though pure Pyro is the fastest way to kill.
RewardsBeat the Lava Dragon Statue, pay 40 Original Resin, and get loot of great value, such as:

  • Sparkless Statue Core
  • Agnidus Agate (Sliver to Gemstone tiers)
  • Different Artifact sets (Gladiator's Finale, Wanderer's Troupe, etc.)
  • EXP materials and Mora.

With such rewards, this boss would be a weekly run in your rotation—especially with the Sparkless Core needed for upcoming Natlan characters.

The Lava Dragon Statue is more about accuracy and timing than endurance. A good team composition and a firm grasp of the Fury mechanic refocus this molten menace from a lava-fueled threat into a treasure trove of Phoenix Plume. When you're comfortable with the barrage clock, the fiery iron mask will feel more like resource farming than a hurdle.
