NEW DELHI: A heated confrontation between young cricketers Abhishek Sharma and Digvesh Rathi during an IPL 2025 match at Ekana Stadium was resolved through BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla's intervention. The incident occurred during SRH's six-wicket victory over LSG, which eliminated Rishabh Pant's team from playoff contention.

The tension escalated in the 10th over when Rathi dismissed Sharma, who had scored 59 runs. Rathi's aggressive celebration after taking the wicket triggered a heated exchange between the players.

A widely shared social media photograph captured Shukla mediating the situation, showing him in conversation with Sharma while Rathi listened to the SRH batsman's perspective.

The mediation proved effective as both players were later seen reconciling with smiles and embraces.

Rathi has emerged as a notable performer in his debut IPL season, demonstrating impressive bowling capabilities against experienced batsmen.

Abhishek, despite not reaching his peak performance in IPL 2025, has maintained better batting statistics compared to his SRH teammates. He aims to finish strong in the team's final two matches of the season.
