The cat is out of the bag, finally!
The name of the child that Ashley St. Clair said she welcomed with Elon Musk earlier this year has been revealed.
According to a new report from the Wall Street Journal, Musk’s 13th kid, a son with the 26-year-old influencer, who was previously referred to as R.S.C., has been named Romulus.
While the tech giant is known for raking up unusual baby names, Romulus – as the internet agrees – is a comparatively common name for a little human!
What does Romulus mean?
In Roman mythology, Romulus is the legendary founder of Rome and its first king. He and his twin brother Remus were abandoned as infants and raised by a she-wolf. According to tradition, Romulus later killed Remus in an argument over the location of the city. The name Romulus is believed to be derived from the city of Rome itself.
Ashley St. Clair, a 26-year-old MAGA author and columnist, took the internet by storm after she claimed that she had given birth to a baby whose father is none other than Elon Musk. The influencer took to X (formerly Twitter), the social media platform that Musk now owns, to share the news as she posted an announcement on February 14, saying that she and the Tesla CEO, 53, have a child together.
Ashley wrote in the post, "Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father. I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child's privacy and safety, but in recent days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause." She added, "I intend to allow our child to grow in a normal and safe environment. For that reason, I ask that the media honor our child's privacy, and refrain from invasive reporting."

Her post was captioned by the Latin phrase, "Alea Iacta Est," meaning "The die is cast."
After a string of back-and-forth with the question of the legitimacy of the kid as Musk’s child, the WSJ article revealed the results of Musk's paternity test in the case. According to a report from Labcorp, Musk's "Probability of Paternity" was 99.9999%.
Apart from Romulus, Musk has already fathered 13 more children with 3 different women. However, the WSJ suggested he could have many, many more children out in the world, citing sources. Take a look at the 13 children of Musk with 3 different women.
The Musk Kids Clan!
Children with Justine Wilson:
Musk was married to Canadian author Justine Wilson from 2000 to 2008. Their first son, Nevada Alexander Musk, tragically passed away due to SIDS at just 10 weeks old. The couple then turned to IVF, resulting in twins Griffin Musk and Vivian Jenna Wilson (formerly Xavier) in 2004, followed by triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian Musk in 2006.
Vivian Jenna Wilson, Musk’s transgender daughter, legally changed her name in 2022, stating she wished to sever ties with her father.
Children with Grimes:
Musk and the Canadian musician Grimes have three children together. Their first son X Æ A-Xii was born in 2020. He is often called “X” and more commonly known as Lil X. Their daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, also known as “Y”, was born in 2021 via surrogate, while their second son Techno Mechanicus, referred to as “Tau,” was born in 2022.
Despite a turbulent relationship, Musk and Grimes have continued to co-parent their children. Their children have always attracted more attention due to their unique names.
Their first son’s name was originally listed as "X Æ A-12" but was later changed to "X Æ A-Xii" to comply with California birth certificate regulations. "X" represents the unknown variable, "Æ" is the elven spelling of "AI" (artificial intelligence or love), and "A-12" is a reference to a Lockheed aircraft.
For the daughter’s name, "Exa" refers to the supercomputing term "exaFLOPS," "Dark" represents "the unknown," and "Sideræl" is a more elven spelling of "sidereal," which means "star time."
Their second son’s nickname, "Tau," comes from the Greek letter that represents the irrational number that equals two times pi. The approximate numerical value of pi is 6.28, which also happens to be Musk's birthday.
Children with Shivon Zilis:
Musk also fathered twins Strider and Azure (2021) with Shivon Zilis, an executive at Neuralink. These twins were conceived via IVF. In 2024, reports confirmed that Zilis and Musk had a third child, a daughter, whose name has been revealed as Arcadia. Earlier this year, Zilis took to X (formerly Twitter) to share news of their fourth child, a son, and posted, “Discussed with Elon and, in light of beautiful Arcadia’s birthday, we felt it was better to also just share directly about our wonderful and incredible son Seldon Lycurgus. Built like a juggernaut, with a solid heart of gold. Love him so much.”
Shivon made the announcement on X while celebrating their third child, Arcadia's first birthday.
The Tesla CEO and Zilis now share four children: the twins Strider and Azure, Arcadia, and Seldon. Until now, the name and gender of their third child had not been publicly disclosed.
