Silchar: Another fraudster involved in a trading scam in Assam's Sribhumi district was arrested from Dharmanagar in Tripura.
On Wednesday, a joint operation by the Badarpur and Churaibari police led to the arrest of the fraudulent trader, Rajdeep Deb. He was taken into custody from a rented accommodation in Dharmanagar.
Allegations suggest that Rajdeep Deb had been running a fraudulent trade under the guise of investment for an extended period, enticing numerous individuals with alluring offers and extracting significant sums of money from them.
Badarpur police in the Sribhumi district earlier apprehended key figures of this scam, including Mohammad Shakir, Mohammad Jabir and Munna. However, reports indicate that five to six other suspects remain at large. Presently, Mohammad Shakir is in police remand at the Badarpur police station. On Thursday, police produced Rajdeep Deb before a Sribhumi court.
