Maria Sharapova has reportedly put her multi-million pound mansion up for sale. The former tennis star enjoyed an incredible 19-year career on the court, winning five Grand Slams and spending time as world No. 1.
Sharapova's first Grand Slam title came in 2004 when she won Wimbledon, beating Serena Williams in straight sets in the final. She was aged just 17 at the time, and the victory saw her assert herself as one of the most exciting rising talents in the sport.
Now, aged 38, Sharapova is engaged to British businessman Alexander Gilkes and the couple are looking to move out of Los Angeles. They own a sensational property in Manhattan Beach, but they are looking to sell the mansion and bank themselves a healthy profit.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Sharapova has listed the five-bed property for £18.5million ($24.995m), just 13 years after buying it for £3m ($4.1m). Once sold, the couple intend to spend more time in Europe and with their family.
The property was custom-built in 2015 by KAA Design and boasts remarkable sea views, as well as remarkable facilities. It has two bowling lanes built into it as well as an adjacent media room. There is also an outside pool and a seating area for when friends and family are over, as well as a built-in bench - which Sharapova is said to use frequently to read pool-side.
There are also big walls of greenery surrounding the property to ensure that its occupants have plenty of privacy, and the outside sitting area is roofed in areas to prevent any bad weather from spoiling time around the firepit.
The home is decorated elegantly and practically, with plenty of modern storage space to hide items away in every room. The bathrooms are also decked out with free-standing baths and with his-and-hers vanity design sinks.
It is unclear whether Sharapova and Gilkes are still living in the property or whether they have already moved back to Europe. The report also notes that the couple have a house in Florida too which they reside in, which would offer them the chance to return to the United States at short notice if they opt to do so.
