Locals in a small village are furious after travellers parked up their caravans on nearby farmland.
The travellers are also trying to persuade local councillors to approve the settlement with the prospect of e-bike chargers.
Michael Chalk and Tom Butler pitched the plan to the council, but locals in the New Forest village of Burley, Hants have branded it a "performative" ploy.
He added: "Protecting the unique character of the New Forest National Park should be a top priority."
The village of Burley has a population of just over 1,300.
Locals Andrew and Rachel Holloway also criticised the plans pitched to the council.
They said: "It certainly harms the character and appearance of the area, and would never be considered as highquality design."
Another neighbour added: "The application appears to exploit features - such as electric vehicle and e-bike charging points - as superficial nods to sustainability objectives. Sustainability, in planning terms, is holistic and must be contextually appropriate, not performative."
More than 70 locals have voiced their opposition to the plans.
