Meghan Markle was mocked by fans online after they spotted one of her celebrity pals promoting her new book with a cameo of one of her competitors. The Duchess of Sussex, who launched her lifestyle brand As Ever this year and also released two seasons of a cookery show on Netflix, With Love, Meghan, is no stranger to British entrepreneur and fashion designer Emma Grede.
Meghan appeared on Ms Grede's podcast, Aspire with Emma Grede, while she was recently seen attending one of her Los Angeles dinner series and stocking it with her As Ever wine. A few days later, the entrepreneur posted a new video announcing her new book, Start With Yourself, which is set to be released in April 2026.
The video featured a short cameo of Martha Stewart, who was seen signing book while giving Emma the "ok" to start on her own.
The homemaking mogul is considered a competitor with the Duchess, as they both have branched out in the lifestyle market.
Ms Stewart previously said of Meghan's endeavours: "Meghan, I don't really know very well. I hope she knows what she's talking about.
"Authenticity, to me, is everything, and to be authentic and knowledgeable about your subject matter is extremely important."
Now, fans have mocked the Duchess for stocking Ms Grede's dinner with wine, while she's out there promoting her work with her competitor.
One user said on X: "Emma Grede hired Meghan Markle to cater her dinner party & then dropped this book with a cameo of Martha Stewart. Now THIS is how it's done!"
Another one said: "I Don't trust Emma Grede. I think she is like Meghan, will do anything, use anyone to climb the ladder to what she deems is success."
A third one commented: "All of Madam's friends are transactional. Never forget that."
A fourth one opined: "Emma Grede is the first person to not get Markled."
A fifth one added: "So Emma used Meghan! Nice change. It benefits Emma more than it does Meghan."
