Mark Labbett might have an eye-watering net worth, but one of his co-stars on The Chase has amassed an even bigger fortune. Members of the public have secured staggering sums on the ITV programme after departing with the top prize, with single players walking away with as much as £80,000. However, regarding the professional quiz experts, they surpass them with their enormous net worths. Mark, better known as The Beast, reportedly boasts a net worth of £12.3 million - more than any other chaser. Mark has remained a core part of the programme since its inception in 2009, becoming one of the first two chasers alongside Shaun Wallace.
However, Mark revealed he receives greater compensation for its spin-off, Beat the Chasers, saying: "That's the week we earn like Premier League footballers, so of course I'll do it. If I could get away with it, I'd purge half of them because the fewer Chasers there are, the more money I get." There is one star of The Chase with a higher net worth than Mark - and that is presenter Bradley Walsh. He's one of the top-paid hosts on British television, reportedly worth a whopping £18 million.
The 65-year-old hosts a variety of shows for both the BBC and ITV, including Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad, which he films with his son Barney Walsh. The father-son duo also present the BBC's reboot of Gladiators, which returned in 2024.
In addition to this, Bradley continues to host The Chase and Beat the Chasers on ITV, as well as the revival of Blankety Blank. Beyond presenting, Bradley has acted in several popular shows over the years, such as Coronation Street, Doctor Who and The Larkins.
Shaun Wallace comes in second amongst the chasers, with an estimated net worth of around £6.2million. Anne Hegerty boasts a fortune of approximately £3million. The I'm A Celebrity star, who made her debut on Mastermind in 1988, maintains a modest way of life, confessing on the How to Be 60 podcast: "I live in a Housing Association flat. I own half of it and rent the other half. I like pondering that [the money] is sitting in the bank. I buy clothes, stupid amounts of clothes."
Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan reportedly possesses a wealth of roughly £3million, amassed from her stints on various quiz programmes including Fifteen to One, The Weakest Link and Are You an Egghead?
Stand-up comedian and quiz champion Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha is believed to possess assets worth approximately £1.4million, having previously worked as a GP. The performer began his quiz show journey on The Weakest Link, and has also delivered stand-up routines to audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe. Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis is the newest addition to the cast, joining in 2020 after initially competing as a contestant on the programme.
The quiz expert remains tight-lipped regarding his salary, though he was eager to dispel misconceptions about whether the chasers pocket forfeited prize funds.
He explained: "A lot of people ask me, do we get the money when we beat contestants on The Chase? Do we win that money? I wish we did, I really wish we did. I'd be a lot better off, believe me, but no, we don't. The money isn't actually real until someone wins. It's just numbers on a screen until it's won, so it just disappears."
His net worth remains undisclosed.
