Donald Trump's 'glaring' impression of Vladimir Putin uncovered by eye gesture

In what marked only their third encounter in seven years, US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin came face-to-face yesterday (August 15) as they sat down to discuss the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Following their arrival in Anchorage, Alaska, the pair could be observed descending from their aircrafts onto the red carpet before exchanging a professional handshake and engaging in brief dialogue.

The leaders subsequently conducted a joint press conference, delivering prepared remarks to the members of the media who had gathered for the potentially significant occasion.

Examining the two leaders throughout that press conference was Nia Williams, a body language expert and relationship expert, who informed the Irish Star that the American leader's demeanour indicated he was "extremely confident" with his "shoulders back and head upwards".

Meanwhile, Nia, who serves as director of dating service Miss Date Doctor, noted how the US leader maintained "strong eye contact" and "locked eyes" with him, suggesting he was attentive and interested in his remarks.

She also highlighted how the 79-year-old Trump displayed "approval in his eyes" as the Russian president expressed gratitude to his American counterpart.

In additional examination of their body language, she noted that distinct "power dynamics" were evident during their press conference. However, she also noted a "glaring mutual respect" between the two leaders, evident in their frequent "eye contact".

She elaborated: "The power dynamics displayed between Putin and Trump reveal dominance, control, comfortability with proximity and a closeness due to a glaring mutual respect with the head nods and eye contact speaking volumes."

She further analysed Putin's body language, stating: "Putin's body language is extremely comfortable and relaxed strong and purposeful still arm movement from Putin indicates leadership and authority."

Despite the apparent mutual respect, the brief meeting between the two politicians ended without any agreement for a ceasefire in the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

However, it seems that another meeting between the pair may be on the cards soon in an attempt to negotiate a peace deal.

As their public address in Alaska neared its end, Putin appeared to extend an invitation to Trump to visit Moscow, to which Trump responded: "Oh, that's an interesting one."

He added: "I'll get a little heat on that one, but I could see it possibly happening."

Moreover, it was announced earlier today that Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday (August 18). The Ukrainian leader posted on X: "On Monday, I will meet with President Trump in Washington, D.C, to discuss all of the details regarding ending the killing and the war. I am grateful for the invitation."
