has shared a playful message to her fans ahead of the release of her new thriller, Another Simple Favour.
The A-list actress, embroiled in a legal tangle with Justin Baldoni, her co-star from It Ends With Us, is set to grace the silver screen once more next month. She'll be reprising her role as Emily Nelson, whom audiences first encountered in the 2018 hit A Simple Favour.
In that film, Lively's character found herself behind bars for her role in a series of murders, leading many to believe that was the last we'd see of Emily. Yet, she makes a comeback in the sequel, which unfolds five years after her incarceration.
With the film's release on the horizon, the 37-year-old star offered a playful yet cautionary note to her fans.
At an exclusive London screening of the forthcoming movie, she playfully warned:"It's bonkers."
She continued, teasing the crowd with a cryptic hint about the plot, saying: "You have no idea what you're about to see."
Another Simple Favour centres around Stephanie Smothers (played by Anna Kendrick), a mum blogger who forms an unexpected bond with Emily Nelson, another mother from her son's school.
Their friendship takes a chilling twist when Emily requests Stephanie to collect her son from school and then disappears without a trace from their quaint town, reports
As Stephanie embarks on a quest to find her newfound friend, she uncovers grim revelations about Emily's history. The discovery of Emily's criminal activities eventually leads to her imprisonment.
The sequel kicks off with Emily, soon to be wed to Dante Versano, being set free. The love-struck pair plan a lavish destination wedding in Capri, Italy, and in an unexpected turn of events, Emily invites Stephanie to be her maid of honour.
Despite her doubts that Emily is seeking revenge, Stephanie agrees to be part of the wedding party, paving the way for another convoluted plot.
Lively and Kendrick return to their roles, joined by Henry Golding who reprises his role as Emily's ex-husband Sean. They share the screen with new cast member Michele Morrone, who plays Italian businessman Dante.
The second film, based on characters from Darcey Bell's debut novel, A Simple Favour, sees Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) return as director.
Another Simple Favour premieres on Amazon Prime on May 1.
