Man Parades Estranged Wife & Male Friend With Hands Tied On Street In Odisha's Puri

Bhubaneswar: A college lecturer publicly shamed his estranged wife and her male friend after allegedly catching them in a compromising position at her rented house at Nimapara in Odisha’s Puri district on Tuesday night.

According to sources, the woman, who is a teacher by profession, had rented out a house near Nimapara police station following a domestic dispute. The husband, who suspected her of infidelity, hatched a plan to catch her red-handed with her male friend, also a teacher from Kakatpur area.

At around 8 pm on Tuesday, he along with some of his friends barged into the woman’s house while the male friend was visiting her. The enraged husband then tied their hands at the back and paraded them through the street as a jeering crowd filmed the entire incident, before handing them over to the police. While the woman was in her night wear, her male friend was stripped to his underwear.

The video clip, which later went viral, led to a public outrage with many condemning the act of public humiliation over a domestic issue with none coming to the rescue of the woman.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case and are questioning both parties over the incident.
