As the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 approach, former Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has made a strong statement regarding the party’s strategy. He asserted that the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) will not contest the elections without projecting a Chief Ministerial candidate.
In an interview with NDTV, Tejashwi remarked, “Are we like the BJP that we don’t have a face? We will definitely not fight the elections without presenting a CM face.” This statement came after his participation in the ‘Voter Rights Yatra’ across Bihar, alongside Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Focus on ‘New Politics’Tejashwi shared videos of his rallies, emphasizing that he aims to bring a ‘new politics’ focused on development, leaving caste and religion aside. He highlighted that his political approach is built on positivity, creativity, progressiveness, and qualitative change.

Targeting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi alleged that the CM is disconnected from the aspirations of Bihar’s youth and surrounded by “retired officials and tired leaders.” He stated on social media:
"Bihar’s youth are united for change, rights, and economic revolution. A CM who is unaware of their dreams and expectations cannot formulate beneficial policies. A CM surrounded by retired officials and exhausted leaders can never understand the aspirations of students and young people."
During his Jan Adhikar Yatra, Tejashwi Yadav emphasized that the upcoming political battle in Bihar is about the future of youth and farmers. The Mahagathbandhan, led by RJD and Congress, is preparing to challenge the ruling NDA, comprising the BJP and JD(U), in the upcoming assembly elections.
This clear positioning underscores RJD’s strategy of projecting a strong CM candidate while focusing on youth-centric and development-driven politics.
