UK Government confirms eight more bank holidays before the end of 2025

The has confirmed that Brits will enjoy eight more bank holidays before the end of 2025. However, it's worth noting that not all are UK-wide. The recent Easter weekend saw England, Wales and Northern Ireland relishing two bank holidays on Good Friday (April 18) and Easter Monday (April 21). , however, only observed Good Friday as a bank holiday.

The official Government X account posted earlier this week to confirm the "full list of remaining bank holidays for 2025". The post detailed Monday, May 5 and Monday, May 26, as UK-wide bank holidays. Day and Day (December 25 and 26) will also be bank holidays across the whole of the UK.

Northern Ireland will observe the Battle of the Boyne bank holiday on Monday, July 14, while Scotland will have a summer bank holiday on Monday, August 4.

England, Wales and Northern Ireland will celebrate this year's summer bank holiday on Monday, August 25. Scotland has an additional bank holiday on Monday, December 1, to mark St Andrew's Day, reports .

There were suggestions for an extra bank holiday on Thursday, May 8, to commemorate 80 years since VE Day.

However, the Prime Minister's spokesperson clarified in November: "We we will look to use the existing May Day bank holiday for commemorative events.

"We are committed to commemorating these nationally important occasions appropriately which is why we have announced more than £10m to mark them."
