June and Moira would infiltrate the Gilead brothel where Janine Lindo (Madeline Brewer) was working, reports .

However, many fans are already seeking answers about the plot, with Margaret Atwood's 2019 sequel novel The Testaments providing some spoilers about what lies ahead.

Does June manage to rescue Hannah in The Handmaid's Tale?

The answer is somewhat ambiguous. In The Testaments, Hannah continues to live under Gilead's regime, known as Agnes Jemima.

She is the adopted child of Commander Kyle and his wife Tabitha, suggesting that in The Handmaid's Tale TV series, June fails to rescue Hannah.

Given that The Testaments is set to be adapted for television, it seems June and Luke's efforts to rescue their daughter will be in vain.

In the book, Hannah chooses to become an Aunt to avoid being wedded to an older commander rumoured to have a history of killing his wives.

During her training, Hannah discovers the truth about her biological parents, including her mother June, who was once a Handmaid and now works for Mayday.

This implies that June hasn't managed to save Hannah by this point, meaning she has spent her crucial growing years in Gilead, potentially facing danger.

However, the novel concludes with Hannah finally reuniting with her parents, but it's unexpectedly Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) who comes to her rescue.

Aunt Lydia orchestrates Hannah's escape, resulting in her reaching Canada with her half-sister Nichole.

Instead of June, it's Aunt Lydia who operates within Gilead's system to dismantle the regime.

With her access to vital information and her influential position, Aunt Lydia is ideally situated to challenge the oppressive government and strike at its core.

The symposium at the conclusion - reminiscent of the one in The Handmaid's Tale - further confirms Gilead's downfall.
