Moment 'Karen' screams at fellow Brit tourists for 'stealing her sunbeds' in Lanzarote

An angry holidaymaker was branded a 'Karen' after launching into a poolside tirade with fellow Brits - over a sunbed. The infuriated guest made her feelings known when she gave a pair of unsuspecting sunbathers an earful of abuse.

The woman, wearing a pink cover up, is seen accusing a couple of being in the spot she had been using “all week” at the Hyde Park Lane apartments in Lanzarote. Another holidaymaker heard the commotion while he was by the pool and caught the incident on camera.

“The Scottish lady said they had been using those beds all week, accusing the couple lying down of moving their items,” Callum Lines, 31, told . “Just to the left, out of shot, was a sign stating no reservation of sunbeds.

“I’m not sure this was the case though. The Scottish lady left to apparently seek management but they never showed.

"I’ve always got two pence to share even when it’s probably not required, but you come away for a rest and some relaxation. There were plenty more available beds - all with equal sun exposure - so this really wasn’t needed."

In the video the angry woman said: “We're here all week. The woman on the sun bed said: “Nobody…” She responded: “And they've had to move.”

Callum chipped in: “Excuse me is there somebody underneath you? Are you sat on someone?”, to which the sunbathing woman retorted: “Get your facts right before you start accusing people.”

But the woman - dubbed a Karen - said: “That's what I said to you.” The woman on the bed replied: “Don't be rude, turn around and walk away.” But her poolside rival added: “I am not being rude.” Callum added: “Well get out her face then.”

The bikini clad sunbather continued: “Turn around and walk away.” But the Karen added: “I'm just saying they've been sitting here all week. They've had to move.”

The other woman responded: “I don't care", while the man next to her pipes up and says: “Go away.” Callum added: “It's all on video mate, don't worry.”

Callum, from Leamington Spa, even got an earful himself. The woman could be heard saying: “Don’t be cheeky, don’t be smart mouthed either. You don’t know who you’re talking to and you don’t know who we’re here with. So just keep your f*****g mouth shut.”

One woman wearing a black cap and bikini could be seen gesturing to the ‘Karen’ to walk away. The pair went back and forth as the woman in pink claimed someone had moved their beds.

Hyde Park Lane apartments has been approached for comment.
