Martin Freeman’s “ruthless” true crime series with a Happy Valley icon will no longer be ready to watch on Netflix in a matter of days.
A Confession originally dropped on ITV six years ago, telling the horrific true story of 22-year-old Sian O’Callaghan who went missing in 2011 after a night out with friends.
The police soon arrest local taxi driver Christopher Halliwell (played by Joe Absolom) but Detective Superintendent Steve Fulcher (Martin Freeman) makes an unusual decision as he still hopes to find Sian alive.

He questions Halliwell before taking him back to the police station and without access to a solicitor, breaching police protocol and therefore costing him his career and reputation.
A Confession delves into the aftermath of Fulcher’s technique to get a confession out of Halliwell, bringing into question how far officers should go to find out the truth.

The six-part drama stars British acting legend Martin Freeman as Fulcher, but is best known for his roles in Sherlock, The Hobbit franchise, Love Actually and The Responder.
He is joined by Happy Valley actress Siobhan Finneran as Sian’s mum Elaine Pickford, EastEnders ’ Joe Absolom as Halliwell, as well as Trollied actress Faye McKeever.
The Crown star Imelda Staunton is behind Karen Edwards, the mother of Becky Godden-Edwards who Halliwell murdered in 2003.
Unfortunately for true-crime fans, A Confession will soon be axed from Netflix’s extensive library after just one year on the streamer.
It has been confirmed that subscribers have just a couple of weeks left to binge-watch the hit drama.

A Confession is going to be leaving the streaming service on Tuesday, September 30, so there isn’t too long before it’s scrapped from Netflix for good.
And it shouldn’t be one to miss out on, given that it has scored an impressive 93% on Rotten Tomatoes and been highly praised by fans over the years.
While someone labelled the drama as “flawless”, another wrote: “A Confession is often grueling, but an honest approach to a horrible situation proves equally gripping.”
“A Confession is not just one for fans of true-crime. The story itself is compelling and heartbreaking”, a third shared.
A fellow user posted: “It is a sad, ruthless dramatisation of ruthlessly sad events”, as another simply stated: “A Confession is not to be missed.”
While the Martin Freeman series is leaving Netflix, there will be another way to watch the drama as A Confession is still available on ITVX.
