Celebrity Big Brother's Jack P Shepherd revealed that he was almost cast in Harry Potter and Billy Elliott. The star has been a mainstay on the soap, but things could have been completely different earlier in his career.
While the group played a game of two truths and a lie, Jack revealed how close he got to landing two huge roles. While they all guessed which were his truthful comments, JoJo got it correct.
Jack then confessed he made it down to that last few to audition for roles in and Billy Elliott. The lie turned out to be a role in Gladiator.
He has gone on to make a name for himself on the famous cobbles. Fans were stunned by his confession and took to social media to share their thoughts.
One user on /X said: "Jack P. Shepherd just revealed he got down to the final four potential actors to play HARRY POTTER? AND Billy Elliot #CBBUK." Another added: "We need to go back in time and make sure that David Platt was fighting Voldemort."
"Wait.. Billy Elliot!? So he can dance?," a third said before a fourth wrote: "Jack made the final rounds to play Harry Potter and Billy Elliot the film!! Imagine!!! #bbuk #CBBUK."
Hit film Billy Elliott came out in 2000 - the same year Jack debuted on the Corrie cobbles. In the end, however, the role was awarded to Jamie Bell, with the actor bagging a BAFTA for his efforts.
Jack has been a mainstay on the ITV soap since first appearing. He has been involved in a number of huge storylines as David Platt.
Jack previously spoke to his Coronation Street co-stars and about how close he got to the role of Billy. Speaking on their On the Sofa podcast, Jack said: "When this film came out I was like 11 to 12-years-old and I'd obviously been for an audition.
"I was only gutted in the sense that I did not get it because of the success the film went on to do - Academy Award nominations. And I used to watch the Academy Awards religiously, getting up in the middle of the night to watch them."
He continued: "So, when you sort of see a film that you auditioned for, it could have been you and you could have been there, it's kind of like...Don't get me wrong, I don't think I'd have done anywhere near as good a performance as Jamie Bell did.''
Colson went on to ask: "But you'd have liked the chance?," to which Jack replied: "Well, I did have the chance and I f***ed it up!''
