This Akshay Kumar-starrer courtroom drama is based on the story of lawyer C Shankaran Nair, who fought against the British Raj to uncover the truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Ahead of the release of 'Kesari 2', Karan Johar has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for shedding light on the 'unheard' story of C Shankaran Nair.
Karan Johar reacted to PM Narendra Modi's speech in which he told how C Shankaran Nair challenged the British Empire after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Before producer Karan Johar, 'Kesari Chapter 2' actor Akshay had thanked PM Narendra Modi for remembering the lawyer and his contribution to India's freedom struggle. He wrote a note on his X account.
The film will be released on 18 April
Sharing a note on X, Akshay Kumar wrote- 'It is very important that we as a nation, especially the younger generation, value the great women and men who fought bravely to ensure that we breathe in a free country.' Let us tell you that in 'Kesari 2' directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Akshay Kumar plays the role of lawyer C Shankaran Nair. On the other hand, R Madhavan plays the role of lawyer Neville McKinley and Ananya Pandey plays Dilreet Gill. Co-produced by Leo Media Collective and Cape of Good Films, the film is scheduled to release on April 18.
