Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) bounced back in style with a seven-wicket win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 37 of IPL 2025, played on Sunday at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur in a match which was a reverse fixture between both teams.

Just two days ago, PBKS had beaten RCB in a rain-hit 14-over game at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. But this time, RCB turned the tables and made sure to even the score in the return fixture.

After securing the win, RCB had a little fun on social media. They responded to an old tweet from Bollywood actor Salman Khan, posted back in 2014, where he had asked: “Zinta's team won kya?”

RCB replied with a witty comeback: “Sorry bhai, not today.” The tweet quickly went viral, and fans loved the playful jab at PBKS co-owner Preity Zinta’s team.

Padikkal And Kohli guide RCB to victory over PBKS

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) registered a convincing 7-wicket win over Punjab Kings (PBKS). PBKS batted first and managed to score 157/6 in 20 overs. Prabhsimran Singh was the standout performer for PBKS, scoring 33 runs off 17 balls, including 5 boundaries and 1 six. Shashank Singh also contributed with 31 runs off 33 balls, featuring 1 boundary. Despite these efforts, PBKS couldn't post a challenging total. Krunal Pandya was the pick of the bowlers for RCB, claiming 2 wickets for 25 runs in his 4 overs. His economical bowling set the tone for RCB's dominance in the match.

In response, RCB chased down the target with ease, scoring 159/3 in 18.5 overs. Virat Kohli was the star performer, scoring 73 runs off 54 balls, featuring 7 boundaries and 1 six. Devdutt Padikkal also contributed significantly, scoring 61 runs off 35 balls, including 5 boundaries and 4 sixes. RCB's batting line-up showcased their prowess, wrapping up the match with ease. For PBKS, Harpreet Brar was the most effective bowler, taking 1 wicket for 27 runs in 4 overs. Despite his efforts, PBKS couldn't stop RCB from registering a convincing win.
