Actress Sharvari Wagh, who is steadily making her mark in the Hindi film industry, recently offered a rare glimpse into her early years of struggle and why she chooses not to speak about it often. In a candid interview, the Bunty Aur Babli 2 actress revealed how the path to landing meaningful roles was far from easy.

"Everyone has their own share of struggles and hardships. So without dismissing anybody else's, I'd say that yes, it was difficult to find the work that I always wanted to do," she told BBC Asian Network.

Sharvari acknowledged her privilege of having a home in Mumbai - a safety net that allowed her to be patient. "I could wait till I got a good project. That in itself is a big privilege," she admitted.

But even with that cushion, the grind was relentless. Sharvari shared, "For five years, I think the most difficult part was going to auditions every single day and getting rejected for films and ads. It felt like failing an exam every day. Yet, in every audition, I'd tell myself, 'This is my film, this is the one'."

What kept her going was simple - Just the love for cinema and the love for wanting to be an actor.

Interestingly, Sharvari also revealed why she rarely speaks about her struggles publicly. "My mother told me something in school that stayed with me - she said, 'Never victimise yourself'. It had nothing to do with the film industry. But I've held onto that advice. It stuck with me. In life, I try not to feel like a victim. I try to look only at the positives," the actress stated.

Sharvari made her Bollywood debut alongside Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan and Siddhant Chaturvedi in Bunty Aur Babli 2 in 2021. Before making her debut, she had worked as an assistant director in films like Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 and Bajirao Mastani.

She tasted fame in 2024 with back-to-back hit films like Munjiya, Maharaj and Vedaa.

Sharvari will next be seen with Alia Bhatt in Alpha. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film will revolve around two fierce female agents tackling dangerous missions in a thrilling world of espionage, as they navigate perilous situations, execute daring stunts, and face unexpected turns.

If media reports are to be believed, the actress has been roped in by the makers of Ranveer Singh's Don 3 after Kiara Advani's exit from the film.
