On Tuesday, anti-sabotage checks were carried out at CSMT Railway Station in the wake of the recent terror attack on tourists in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the CSMT Railway Police, the checks were conducted between 11:10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The anti-bomb squad and vigilance team carried out thorough inspections at the main railway station and local train tracks.
Dog squads, police officers, and other personnel were involved in the operation. The police examined 43 bags belonging to 34 suspects. In addition, key areas such as the main gate, general hall, waiting room, parking area, parcel office, motorman’s cabin, guard lobby, star booking hall, platforms, and other congested areas were thoroughly inspected.
The operation aimed to boost passengers' sense of security within the CSMT area. Fortunately, nothing suspicious was found during the inspection.
As part of a nationwide safety exercise by the Ministry of Home Affairs, a mock drill will be held at CSMT Station (Mumbai Metro Project ) on May 7, 2025 at 11:00 AM, with the help of Civil defence team.
Purpose of the Drill:
This drill is meant to check how prepared we are during emergencies like air raids or missile attacks.
Air raid sirens will be played
Lights may be turned off briefly
People will practice taking shelter
Emergency teams will show how they respond
Evacuation, firefighting, and safety checks will take place
This is being done in 244 districts across India to help people stay calm, avoid confusion, and stay safe during real emergencies.
