Patna: Ahead of the assembly polls in Bihar, everybody is talking about jobs and employment opportunities to woo the youth as over 58 percent of the state`s population is under 25 years.
Acknowledging the fact how job and employment are emerging as major poll planks in the Bihar election, Indian Youth Congress organised a 'Maha Rojgar Mela' in the state capital on Saturday to woo voters before the polls.
IYC national president Uday Bhanu Chib on this occasion said, “BJP has been in power in Bihar for the last 20 years, and at the centre for 11 years, but has done nothing for the unemployed youth of Bihar.”
On the other hand, AICC In charge of Bihar Krishna Allavaru contended, “A large number of youths have gathered in the 'Maha Rojgar Mela' organised in Patna. These pictures show that the BJP-JD (U) government has not given jobs to the youth, it has only given false assurances and slogans.”
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a public meeting in Motihari, said the Centre has approved a new scheme under which Rs 15,000 would be provided to every individual employed for the first time in a private company. The scheme will come into effect from August 1, with the government allocating Rs 1 lakh crore for its implementation.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also recently announced to give one crore jobs and employment opportunities to the youth in the next five years as the state cabinet also endorsed it later.
RJD leader Tejahshwi Yadav has promised 10 lakh government jobs, an unemployment allowance, a Youth Commission, and a domicile-based job policy if his party forms government after the election. No Bihari will need to leave the state for employment under the RJD rule, he added.
