Guwahati: A drone was found abandoned in the Charbazar area near Sribhumi town, close to the India-Bangladesh border in Assam. The place where it was spotted is roughly 50 meters away from Kushiyara river. A government official said that a drone which was black in colour was found on the top of the house. The drone is marked as made in China.
The superintendent of police (SP), Sribhumi, Partha Pratim Das told ET, “We suspect this drone has come from the other side of the border. The drone was made in China, but no memory card was installed in it. We are examining it and investigating the matter further.”
He added, "We have received information from the Chorakuri area that a black colour drone was found on the top of a house. Police reached the spot and recovered the drone”.
Last month in South Tripura district locals discovered a suspected Bangladeshi drone inside Indian territory.
Sadhan Mazumdar, a farmer first spotted the mini drone in a paddy field near the Indo-Bangladesh border at Ballamukha, under Bilonia subdivision.
Tripura shares 857 km of the total 4,096.7-kilometre-long India-Bangladesh border, and although more than 97 percent of Tripura's international border on its three sides is fenced with barbed wire.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha claimed on Thursday that if Pakistan further tries to escalate tensions or create any fresh troubles, India would finish it, asserting that Indians are safe due to the bold decisions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing a function on the occasion of observance of World Red Cross Day 2025, the Chief Minister said that the Indian armed forces, through the ‘ Operation Sindoor’, gave a “befitting response” to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives and other such dastardly acts on Indian soil.
“What Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, he executes it. So long as Modi is PM, India and the Indians are safe. We are all with him,” said Saha and expressed solidarity with the armed forces.
He said that the ‘Operation Sindoor’ was a meticulously planned action on terrorist training camps and launchpads in Pakistan.
“The state government has been trying to further strengthen the infrastructure in all eight districts in the state so that blood collected through the voluntary blood donation camps can be properly stored and provided to the needy,” he said.
