USA star batter Aaron Jones has recently expressed his desire to feature in the Indian Premier League () shortly. The right-handed batter, who grabbed headlines with his unbeaten 94 against Canada in the 2024 T20 World Cup, took to social media to share his ambition, "I want to play in the IPL soon," he posted.

Jones has gone on to become one of USA Cricket’s poster boys after a consistent performance on the highest level. He was also awarded the ICC Men’s Associate Batting Performance of the Year.

Despite being on the sidelines during most of the tournament, he repaid the team’s faith with a knock of 48* in the final, cruising the team out of a crisis to secure a memorable win.
Despite his exploits, The 30-year-old was nOt among the 577 players shortlisted for the IPL 2025 mega auction scheduled in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, last November. The auction featured 367 Indians and 210 overseas cricketers eyeing 204 available spots, including 70 for foreign players.
Notably, the other USA stars like Unmukt Chand, Saurabh Netravalkar, and Ali Khan were listed but went unsold. With IPL increasingly open to talent from Associate nations, his dream might just be a season away.
Earlier in 2024, Jones was left out of the USA squad for the World Cup League 2 tri-series, reportedly due to issues with USA Cricket over his decision to play in the CPL instead of touring Namibia. But his stellar performance for the Saint Lucia Kings likely cleared that choice.
