Elon Musk's AI company xAI has launched a new and special memory feature for its chatbot Grok. With the help of this feature, Grok will now remember your previous conversations and based on that, it will give you more personalized and intelligent answers. Just like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini, now Grok will also answer your questions keeping in mind your likes, dislikes, and habits.
How will Grok's Memory feature work?
Grok will now remember some important things from your old conversations. For example, if you once got a workout plan made from Grok and told that you like cardio, then the next time you ask a question related to fitness, Grok will give suggestions keeping that information in mind.
Users will get complete control.
Keeping in mind your data and privacy, xAI has added a special system to it. Whenever any answer is based on the old conversation, a small icon named "Referenced Chats" will appear below the answer. By tapping on this icon, you will be able to see which old information has been used in this answer. If you want, you can also delete those memories from there. Currently, this feature is available on the web, it will be added to the Android app soon.
Full control will be available in Settings.
You can completely turn off the Memory feature by going to Settings > Data Controls. If you want, you can also delete old memories one by one. Currently, this option is available only on the website. This new Memory feature has been launched worldwide, but it will not be available in the European Union (EU) and the UK. The reason is the strict privacy policy of those areas.
