Carlo Ancelotti has stated that Real Madrid need Kylian Mbappe goals "more than ever" as they look to complete a remarkable Champions League turnaround against Arsenal. Real Madrid have it all to do on Wednesday evening after losing 3-0 in north London one week ago.
They were perhaps lucky to leave having only conceded the three goals given the amount of saves Thibaut Courtois had to make as . Real Madrid have history of coming from behind in the competition, though, and that is why the tie is far from done despite three-goal advantage.
Mbappe will certainly be looking to play a huge role in Real staging an almighty comeback to advance following his red card for a horrendous challenge on Antonio Blanco in their 1-0 win over Alaves at the weekend. Since the World Cup winner's return to training, Ancelotti has revealed that his player is "disappointed" by what happened but he is "very motivated" to atone for it.

"He's hurt, disappointed by what happened," explained Ancelotti (via ). "He trained very well yesterday, very motivated. We need him. We don't just have to defend, we have to score goals. More than ever, we need his goals tomorrow."
An early goal for Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night could possibly set the 15-times Champions League winners up for another epic comeback. Ancelotti doesn't believe his team have to score early, however.
"I don't think it's definitive," he said on scoring an early goal. "Of course, scoring early is important for the match. But the most important thing is to have good control of the match and try to do your best from the start. When you have good control of the match, you can score at any moment."
Having a clear plan could potentially make all the difference as Real look to recover from their 3-0 deficit.
"I want to clearly explain the match strategy to the players," said the Italian. "We've given it a lot of thought; we're going to try something out in training. I want the players to come onto the field with a very clear idea. If a player has clarity, they're capable of achieving their best individual performance."
He added: "I've spoken to them about the emotional aspect, about how we have to approach this match. The motivation is there, and I want the player to be calm enough to prepare for it. The only thing we're not sure about is whether we can get this result, but it's certain that we'll give it our all."
